We are in the Open Power Era and Enel is preparing to hire people who want to change the world and are willing to challenge themselves in order to invent ways to change it.

We are looking for a Data Scientist, who could support the company in defining the IT evolution strategy towards a data Driven Company, with a view to the digital transformation.

What you will do:

As a Data Scientist, you are able to exploit the data in order to extract meaning and interpretation.
you love to build mathematical and statistical models, design and implement algorithms with the aim of gain insights and suggest data driven decisions. You will be part of the Enel Data Science community collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team on a wide range of problems (forecasting, optimization, anomaly detection, fraud detection, classification, NLP and text mining, computer vision, …).
• Structure relevant data science questions given a set of business objectives.
• Build and prototype analysis and models iteratively to provide insights.
• Integrate a model in Enel’s reference architectures (C3 Platform, AWS Sagemaker, Microservice on Docker containers).
• Make business recommendations (e.g. cost-benefit, forecasting...) with effective presentations and communications of findings.
• Research and develop analysis, forecasting, and optimization methods to improve Enel's data products.

Who you are:

According to your specialization you will apply specific techniques to work on different fields.

NLP expert:

• Work with large, complex unique textual (structured or unstructured) data sets. Solve hard, non-routine problems, build chatbots, extract critical information from news, classifying documents based on their topic and more.

Computer vision expert:

• Work with large, complex unique 2D-3D Computer Vision data sets. Solve hard, non-routine problems, detect anomaly from high-resolution aerial images, semantic segmentation of 3D LiDAR data of a more than 2 million of km distribution network and more.

Statistics and machine Learning expert:

• Work with large, complex data sets. Solve hard, non-routine analysis problems, applying advanced analytical, statistical, mathematical methods as needed. Be autonomous in end-to-end analysis (e.g. data gathering and requirements specification, processing, analysis, presentations...).

Quantitative Finance expert:

• Work with large, complex unique data sets. Solve hard, non-routine problems, perform portfolio optimization, develop new algorithms, and extract critical information from news and more. A professional experience working in a trading firm and knowledge of commodities market are a strong plus.

What we search for in you:

• MS degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., statistics, data science, operations research, computer science, mathematics, physics, engineering, …).
• 3+ years professional experience working as Data Scientist or applying Computer Vision, NLP or speech processing and/or Machine Learning.
• Sound experience in querying databases using SQL.
• Hands-on experience with Machine Learning, Deep Learning and/or Computer Vision and/or NLP and/or speech processing depending on your specialization.
• Strong knowledge and development experience with learning algorithms. Experience with the full machine learning lifecycle.  
• Experience with git.
• Experience with Python, Deep learning frameworks (e.g PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.).
• Experience with common Data Science libraries like Pandas, Scikit-Learn, NumPy, etc..  
• Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Fluent Italian and English, both speaking and writing; Spanish is a plus.
• A plus: PhD degree in a quantitative discipline as listed in Basic Qualifications.
• Proven track record of innovation in developing learning algorithms and applying them to large scale system improvement.
• Experience with microservices architecture: docker containers and kubernetes.
• Knowledge of DevOps methodologies: the Atlassian suite (bitbucket, confluence, Jira, bamboo) is a strong plus.
